Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities of a Route Supervisor/Operations Supervisor
- Organizes and schedules all necessary drivers, vehicles to accomplish routes.
- Tracks needs for equipment with Fleet Maintenance department.
- Plans, distributes, monitors, and follows-up daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements.
- Manages the end-of-day check-in process, capturing and communicating key service, safety, and equipment issues.
- Monitors driver and laborer time and attendance, minimizing overtime and ensuring that drivers do not exceed limits established by DOT
- Sets and monitors Drive Cam, productivity, and safety targets for each route and driver.
- Assists with data collection and reporting required for incentive pay programs.
- Works with HR Department to ensure all employees Department of Transportation requirements are met.
- Conducts Root Cause Investigations for all injuries and incidents and working with team members to resolve matters.
- Establishes and maintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with Company/Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Observes drivers on route and conducts route audits.
- Transports helpers/ drivers as needed to respective job sites.
- Documents problem fixes and provides instructions to dispatch/service should problems recur.
- Notifies customer service of potential delays.
- Visits customer site to handle needs or disputes
- Ensures missed pickups are reported and resolved.

- Possess physical strength to operate heavy and power-driven equipment
- Ability to work in teams
- Ability to communicate and interact both verbally and written
- Ability to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner
- Can operate a motor vehicle
- Can work independently with minimum supervision
- Good relationship building ability
Qualifications
Training and Educational Qualification
- Valid driver license with acceptable record is required
- Commercial Driver license (CDL) would be an asset, but is not required
