Route Operations Supervisor

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities of a Route Supervisor/Operations Supervisor

• Organizes and schedules all necessary drivers, vehicles to accomplish routes.
• Tracks needs for equipment with Fleet Maintenance department.
• Plans, distributes, monitors, and follows-up daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements.
• Manages the end-of-day check-in process, capturing and communicating key service, safety, and equipment issues.
• Monitors driver and laborer time and attendance, minimizing overtime and ensuring that drivers do not exceed limits established by DOT
• Sets and monitors Drive Cam, productivity, and safety targets for each route and driver.
• Assists with data collection and reporting required for incentive pay programs.
• Works with HR Department to ensure all employees Department of Transportation requirements are met.
• Conducts Root Cause Investigations for all injuries and incidents and working with team members to resolve matters.
• Establishes and maintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with Company/Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
• Observes drivers on route and conducts route audits.
• Transports helpers/ drivers as needed to respective job sites.
• Documents problem fixes and provides instructions to dispatch/service should problems recur.
• Notifies customer service of potential delays.
• Visits customer site to handle needs or disputes
• Ensures missed pickups are reported and resolved.

• Possess physical strength to operate heavy and power-driven equipment
• Ability to work in teams
• Ability to communicate and interact both verbally and written
• Ability to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner
• Can operate a motor vehicle
• Can work independently with minimum supervision
• Good relationship building ability

Qualifications

Training and Educational Qualification

• Valid driver license with acceptable record is required
• Commercial Driver license (CDL) would be an asset, but is not required
