Responsibilities
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the project manager maintain, Scope, Schedule, and Budget. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* identifies essential duties of the role Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific functions may change from time to time.
- Report directly to the Project Manager.
- Ensure locates (811) are called in 48 hours or 2-business days prior to the start of projects and remain current and active throughout project lifecycle.
- Ensure project submittals are compiled, sent to the customer, and accepted by the customer prior to material purchase(s)/orders.
- Ensure project safety paperwork (EAP, PSSP, WSHP, etc.) is compiled, submitted, reviewed, and approved prior to project start.
- Assist in project hand-offs from bid phase to construction phase.
- Coordinate project deliveries (equipment and material) to the job-site.
- Assist Project Manager in crew assignments and scheduling.
- Assist in generating invoices for customers based on services rendered and in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Assist in preparing written estimates for customers based on labor, materials, equipment, and other expenses.
- Visit project sites to evaluate progress and to respond to customers concerns or questions.
- Work as a liaison between the Project Manager and Field Supervisor(s) about delays and other issues that must be communicated to customers.
- Scan and archive digital blueprints and schematics for future access.
- Must be resilient in coping with conflicting demands, able to prioritize duties, and work under pressure.
- Develop skills and knowledge to progress towards a Project Manager position.
- Be proficient in Microsoft applications (excel, project, word, outlook, etc.) to be able to navigate bid worksheets, proposal documents, composing and maintaining schedules.
- Assist in approving project expenses (coding credit card expenses, invoices, etc.)
- Track consumables (aggregate, concrete, timber mats, etc.) and ensure quantities utilized vs. quantities bid are in alignment.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU OFFER
- EDUCATION: High school/college graduate, holder of G.E.D. or equivalent studies/experience
- EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years Construction Experience preferred
- Be proficient in Microsoft applications (excel, project, word, outlook, etc.)
