Special Education Paraprofessional - 1:1/CNA
Coburn Elementary
Coburn Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Paraprofessional to provide individualized support to a student with unique learning and/or behavioral needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher and related service providers to reinforce instruction, encourage independence, and foster a safe, supportive learning environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Provide direct support to an assigned student to reinforce learning of materials and skills introduced by the teacher.
-Assist the teacher in implementing individualized strategies tailored to the student’s specific needs, interests, and abilities.
-Establish and maintain a positive, supportive, and respectful relationship with the student to promote social, emotional, and academic growth.
-Support the student during transitions, emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, field trips, and other school-related activities.
-Assist with lunch, snack, toileting, and clean-up routines as needed.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, building administration, or Superintendent of Schools.
-Staff will be trained in student-specific feeding and positioning/transferring.
Qualifications:
- Must have CNA License
- Associates Degree or 48 college credits attained or Workkeys, Associate degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed
- Familiarity with some data collection is preferred.
- Ability to work with young, active children in the classroom, on the playground, and in the gym during gross motor movement.
Salary: Per Unit D Contract (salary range: $17.67/hr-$22.96/hr - plus an additional $5.00/hr for CNA licensure)
