Job Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of production personnel while overseeing manufacturing processes to ensure that safety and quality standards are met.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise team of production employees; ensure team is adequately staffed, managed, trained and evaluated
- Monitor the production process and perform routine checks to ensure that work is carried out according to standard operating procedure
- Ensure equipment within assigned area is in proper working order at all times
- Verify the readiness of the production line at start-up and supervise change-overs
- Manage line efficiencies, key performance indicators and down time
- Manage within budgetary and operational guidelines
- Make recommendations and implement processes to improve the overall efficiency, quality and safety of production operations
Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of Production or Manufacturing experience required
- Previous supervisory and/or leadership experience preferred
- Experience working with manual or powered pallet jacks preferred; forklift certification a plus
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) preferred
- Intermediate computer and database skills
- Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively supervise and motivate employees
