Under general supervision performs professional nursing care of considerable difficulty for clients with complex health care needs; performs related work as assigned.

- Administers specialty public health programs
- Implements the nurse process which includes physical assessment, nurse diagnosis, interventions, and evaluations to clients
- Provides education and counseling as needed by the individual
- Networks with and refers to community resources appropriate to client's need
- Administers immunizations and prescribed treatments according to standing orders or individual physician's orders
- Participates in prevention and control of communicable diseases
- Performs clinical nursing duties in immunization, tuberculosis, prenatal, family planning, well child, and teen, as well as during home visits targeted to the elderly, the home bound, families with a family member with a developmental disability or traumatic brain injury
- Identifies and networks with a variety of community resources to address client needs
- Participates in orientation and clinical supervision of nurse aides and student nurses
- Prepares and maintains individual case records and program reports
- May plan, implement, and monitor contracts, standing orders, budgets, quality assurance and standard of care policies and procedures
Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: sitting for computer work; working with and around other staff and outside agencies; dealing with interruptions; reaching; repetitive motion (hand/wrist) for computer work, writing, and using a calculator; vision acuity (near/ far) must be able to see documents needing attention and driving; color vision for reading labels; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation with staff and customers; finger dexterity for typing/ 10-key.
Bachelor's degree in nursing and three years of clinical nursing experience; OR
Associate degree in nursing and four years of clinical nursing experience; OR
Five years of clinical nursing experience; OR
Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a current Arizona RN license, a current CPR certification. Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications- An understanding of immunizations and their effectiveness in creating community immunity and promoting wellness. (3)
- Previous experience working in a clinic setting as a medical professional. (3)
- Experience working with the Arizona State Immunization Information System database. (2)
- Bilingual (2)
- Previous experience/knowledge of the Vaccines for Children state immunization program. (2)
