What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coding Instructor position at Code Ninjas (Preston Hollow)?
Coding experience not a requirement
At Code Ninjas, we teach kids ages 4 - 14 the fundamentals of coding through building video games. You do not need coding experience. We will teach the curriculum! Kids work, primarily, independently while instructors are there to answer questions, lead lessons, and offer assistance. The kids need to have a fun and engaging experience. Below are the 4 things that I look for most:
Know every student - not just know their names, but who are they. How was their day at school, how did their soccer game go, what is their mood? These are all things you need to take the time to find out.
Engage every student - a big one. It should be your goal to interact with every student that comes through the door, in some capacity.
Teach every student - even if it is how to ask a better question, you need to impart knowledge to every student each session.
Share student progress - the kids work hard on their projects and they should be recognized by you and their peers. Make it happen!
This job is very low stress, fun, and feel good. We have a good time. Some shifts, all we do is play Minecraft and Roblox with kids. If you are looking for a flexible position, work with kids, and make a little money doing it, apply!
