Position Overview
Codman Academy Charter Public School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Varsity Boys Soccer Coach. The Coach is responsible for leading student-athletes in developing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while adhering to all school and league policies. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive athletic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Team Development
Plan and conduct regular practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Instruct student-athletes in the fundamentals of the sport while fostering personal and athletic growth.
- Ensure all student-athletes meet eligibility requirements and adhere to team expectations.
Promote leadership, integrity, and discipline among athletes.
Administrative & Compliance
Adhere to all Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and Codman Academy Charter Public School policies and procedures.
- Manage and submit all required paperwork for participation, including rosters, waivers, and health records.
- Meet all deadlines set by CACPS Athletics for scheduling and participation requirements.
- Schedule all non-conference competitions and manage transportation logistics for practices and games.
Attend all required pre-season and post-season meetings organized by the Athletics Department.
Equipment & Safety
Maintain and inventory athletic equipment and uniforms.
- Ensure a safe and respectful practice and competition environment for all athletes.
Monitor student-athlete well-being and communicate any concerns to school administrators.
Qualifications
Required
Demonstrated knowledge of the sport and experience leading and organizing a team.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Completion of annual Youth Sports Concussion Training Certification.
Successful completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Course.
Preferred
Previous coaching experience at the middle school or high school level.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
