Coffeetopia is accepting applications for Barista at our Portola Drive and Cap rd locations.
We strive to offer both our customers and our co-workers an upbeat, fun yet professional culture. We a have a number of folks moving on from Santa Cruz and need to add to our team of friendly, outgoing folks--we typically have very low turnover for the espresso world.
We're looking for some amazing part-time folks who have moderate to amazing availability--probably starting with three days a week of work. You don't have to be an experienced barista(though it can help!), but you do need a great attitude, personality, work ethic and great references. A love and appreciation of coffee would be a good thing too!
If you are working coffee now but don't feel appreciated, or just not happy with your current gig, consider reaching out; we get lots of returning co-workers which says something about our culture; feel free to ask any current staff folks about how they like working with Coffeetopia!
This is a people focused job--lots of customer interaction.
Our schedule needs vary at each shop; Coffeetopia's cafes are currently open 6am to 2pm, though we might adjust these as Spring arrives and summer approaches.
We're looking for folks who want to work through the Fall and Winter--and beyond!
Candidates should:
* Be upbeat and positive!
* Be 18 or over.
* Be self motivated.
* Possess great customer service skills.
* Have restaurant or food service experience, if not direct espresso experience.
* Have an appreciation of great coffees and teas.
* Enjoy interacting with people.
* Have a valid California State Food Handler's Certificate (look online for info if needed-we can help and will pay your online fees!)
* Have reliable transportation.
* Have a stable living situation!

We state our starting pay and train new folks at $17-18 depending on experience and will bump up as incentive to stay(tips add $6-9/hr cash fwiw); if businesses aren't transparent about their compensation there's usually a reason!
