Cognascents is seeking individuals for the position of Integrity Engineer specializing in pressure equipment and piping. We require a minimum of 5 or more years of relevant experience for this role, and while an engineering degree is preferred, individuals without an engineering degree will be considered based on their work experience.

The responsibilities will encompass the development of inspection projects, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

As an Integrity Engineer, your essential job functions will include, but are not limited to, the following Key Responsibilities:

 

·        Program Management: Develop, review, and manage the execution of integrity and inspection programs, ensuring alignment with client specifications and industry standards.

·        Quality Oversight: Supervise inspection teams to guarantee high-quality execution of the inspection scope, emphasizing adherence to safety protocols.

·        Safety Compliance: Ensure that all team members adhere to stringent safety practices during operations and project execution.

·        Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison between field teams and integrity management, facilitating effective communication and project coordination.

·        Defect Management: Identify, assess, and manage defects using established defect management protocols to maintain asset integrity.

·        Logistics Coordination: Handle the logistics for project activities, including scheduling and resource allocation.

·        Field Inspections: When necessary, personally conduct and oversee critical integrity tasks and inspections to ensure all elements of the work scope are addressed.

·        Technical Analysis: Perform Level 1 and Level 2 Fitness for Service evaluations (per API 579, 510, 570, ASME, etc.) to assess equipment longevity and integrity.

·        Reporting: Produce detailed reports, manage documentation, and ensure all reporting meets company and regulatory standards.

·        Data Management: Collect and analyze field data essential for comprehensive integrity assessments, with backend support from the wider team.

·        Technology Integration: Leverage state-of-the-art engineering software and asset integrity tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in integrity programs.

·        Documentation: Maintain and organize critical process documents and engineering drawings necessary for project execution.

·        Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow team members to support various project initiatives, offering expertise where needed.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements.

 

·        Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

·        Successful completion of required drug and alcohol screening.

·        Experience with asset integrity or similar engineering software tools.

·        Demonstrated ability in risk assessment or familiarity with RBI methodologies.

·        Project management skills or certification (e.g., PMP, if applicable).

·        Physical ability to perform tasks in facilities, offshore, and potentially adverse conditions.

·        Ability to work offshore by qualifying for safety courses and offshore survival courses.

·        Proven leadership or supervisory experience in an engineering or operational setting.

·        Strong technical writing skills for creating detailed reports.

·        Proficiency in applicable API, ASME, and related inspection and pressure equipment codes.

·        Proficiency in inspection, integrity engineering, and pressure equipment design or related mechanical engineering topics.

·        5 or more years of asset integrity-related experience in any combination of the upstream, midstream, refining, and chemicals industries.

·        A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

·        Flexibility to travel and work at a customer’s facility and or offshore.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.

·        Proficiency in written and spoken English.

·        Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.

·        Certification as an API 510 and/or API 570 Inspector is a plus.

·        Other certifications can be considered and advantageous.

 

Travel Requirements:

 

This position will support facilities in numerous areas; thus, at least 25% travel can be anticipated.
