What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness Attendant position at Cohere?
Looking for a fitness-oriented individual for a part-time role at Kissing Tree Master Community. This position reports directly to the Kissing Tree Fitness Manager. The Fitness Attendant will support operations of the Fitness Center, Indoor Pool, and Outdoor Pool, including, but not limited to, cleaning/disinfecting facilities, minor administrative functions, space organization/set-up, and assisting/guiding use of equipment. The position is part-time hourly at a maximum average of 30 hours per week, and minimum of 8 hours per week. Position WILL require early morning hours, evening hours, weekends, and occasional holidays. You must be flexible, punctual, social and have excellent interpersonal skills with basic fitness knowledge.
Position will require internal and external work daily which may include exposure to inclement weather. May be exposed to hazardous materials such as, but not limited to, cleaning and pool chemicals. Working conditions will be indoor and outdoor daily. May be subjected to extreme weather conditions such as high temperatures.
Responsibilities
Fitness Operations
- Assist with daily operation of Fitness Centre, Indoor Pool, and Outdoor Pool including, but not limited to, cleaning and disinfecting equipment, laundering and maintaining towel supply, ensuring facilities remain clean and organized, and performing opening/closing duties.
- Provide customer experience through interactions, educating participants on equipment usage, answering general questions.
- Assist with facilitation of fitness programming, including, but not limited to, class set-up/clean up, placing/removing lane lines, ensuring equipment is available for use and stored when not in use, and supporting instructors.
- Maintain communication with Fitness Manager regarding positive recognition, performance reviews, schedule conflicts, equipment maintenance, supply needs, and resident feedback.
Emergency Response
- Assist with resolution of emergency situations as may be needed.
- Document and communicate incidents that may occur.
General/Community Operations
- Attend regularly scheduled team meetings when required.
- Maintain communication with Fitness Manager regarding positive recognition, performance reviews, schedule conflicts, equipment maintenance, supply needs.
- Document and communicate incidents that may occur.
- Additional reasonable requests and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged extensive standing/walking.
- Considerable reaching and pushing.
- Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds
- Heavy physical effort may be required on
Education, Training, & Work Experience
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience, education, and/or training in health and fitness strongly preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of various fitness equipment strongly preferred.
Technical Requirements
- Standard office equipment (Telephone/voice mail, printer, scanner, copier)
- Software programs (Microsoft Office – Windows, Excel, Outlook)
