DESCRIPTION
The Adhesives Production Operator performs all tasks essential in the preparation, reaction, and storage of finished products and raw materials utilizing reactors, storage tanks, pumps, and other equipment specific to Coim’s manufacturing units. Primary duties will involve charging raw materials to reactor; processing batches and packaging completed batches; obtaining samples and performing analysis; receiving raw material through tank truck; operate transfer sequences on SACDA PLC system. The candidate conducts all processing operations ensuring all work is performed in a safe, orderly, and clean fashion .
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains daily logs and records as instructed.
- Responsible of maintaining the boiler log and managing the boiler operator schedule (optional through the black seal boiler certification).
- Participates on investigative teams and site group initiatives (e.g. PHAs, PSSR, etc).
- Assists in training newer operators.
- Maintains plant cleanliness to Coim’s housekeeping standards.
- Recognizes and documents abnormal operating conditions with proper response.
- Performs physical Cycle Count.
- Reads batch and operating instructions associated for the preparation of raw material.
- Unload bulk raw materials and intermediates from bulk to storage or packages.
- Proper operation of transfer controls, PLC systems, pneumatic, and electrical equipment for the offloading of raw’s.
- Sampling of incoming raw materials and water testing raw material for batches.
- Prepares re-work and partials containers in ovens for upcoming batches.
- Loads raw material in the reactors through bulk storage or package containers.
- Differentiation of raw material through product family for usage of the proper portable pump or flexible hose.
- Uses the proper checklist to track raw material charging.
- Loads re-work and partials package in the reactors.
- Selects correct portable equipment for different product line and raw material families.
- Performs analysis as Viscosity, NCO%, solid content and Moisture test for polyols as needed.
- Judges and performs adjustments to the batch as needed.
- Reads batch and operating instructions associated for the preparation of packaging of finished products.
- Re-packages finished goods for customers shipments.
- Proper preparation of package material (labels, tight the bung and cap, clean drums and totes, seals of drums and totes) and store it in the proper building.
- Participates in all safety related activities and meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
