We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Property Manager position. We are looking for a personable, organized, hard-working, experienced individual that thrives on interacting with people in a fast-paced work environment. Front office employees are often the first employee that the customer or the public comes in contact with so you’ll also be responsible for leaving a great first impression for the organization.
SUMMARY
The Assistant Property Manager performs administrative and organizational duties such as working with residents, collecting rent, performing bookkeeping, organizing property viewings, and working alongside the maintenance department. They have outstanding business management and distinguished conflict resolution skills. They effectively communicate with all parties involved on a property while providing exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Screen & interview prospective tenants
o Prepare & schedule property viewings
o Conduct Property Tours
o Process applications, conduct credit checks, & negotiate contracts
o Inspect property condition & coordinate maintenance activities
o Address and resolve resident questions, concerns, and complaints in a timely manner
o Manage budgets, accounts, rent collections, and tenant notices
o Maintain organized and updated files & records
o Perform data entry into necessary systems
o Generate reports for the property management department
o Report any problems or issues to Property Manager
o Excellent communications skills
o Personable and friendly
o Proficient with technology (Microsoft Office, Google products and other back office software)
o Ability to work well under pressure balancing multiple priorities and assignments to meet deadlines
o Consistent with follow up and follow through
o Strong typing skills
o Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems
o Must be highly organized
o Adaptable to various personalities/situations

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Active real estate license is preferred but not required
- Combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
- Ability to read and understand documents and to communicate with agents and other staff members in a courteous and professional manner
- Bilingual is preferred
- Basic Accounting knowledge helpful in processing rent payments, balances, deposits and the monthly billing statements
- Ability to define the problem, establish facts and draw a valid conclusion to solve the problem and plan initiatives
- A background in real estate is helpful, although having a real estate license is not required for this position
- Mobility to work in a standard office setting using standard office equipment including:
- Stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions
- Strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 3 pounds
- Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
- Frequently subject to interruptions in a moderate noise level office setting
- Some travel is required to the rental units for inspection and pre-lease purposes
- Monday - Friday 8 am - 4 pm
