The Colfax School District is accepting applications for a Bus Driver. Details of the position follows:
Hours/Days: 3.5 hours per day, 180 days/year
Rate of Pay: Based upon placement on Classified Salary Schedule
Benefits: Medical and leave benefits per bargaining agreement
Closing date: Open Until Filled
General Performance Responsibilities
1. Able to work effectively under pressure and pleasant under time constraints.
2. Enjoy working with children of all ages.
3. Possesses sense of humor.
4. Reliable and punctual in attendance at work.
5. Receptive in learning new strategies and techniques.
6. A contributing problem solver.
7. Communicates with teachers and actively supports teachers directions to students.
8. Corrects misbehaviors and refers students to supervisor for discipline.
9. Refers parent complaints and requests appropriately to supervisor.
10. Maintains confidentiality: Does not discuss students or student/teacher matters outside the school setting.
11. Accurate in reporting and report writing.
12. Reports unattended students.
13. Reports hazardous equipment or unsafe conditions.
Essential Duties
1. Drives the bus on assigned routes in a legal and safe manner.
2. Instructs students and teachers in emergency bus evacuation procedures.
3. Instructs students in proper bus conduct.
4. Reports misconduct on bus through established district procedures.
5. Operates cellular phone as needed.
6. Conducts pre-trip and post-trip bus inspection to insure that all parts are operating and bus is safe.
7. Fuels bus as needed.
8. Cleans interior of bus daily.
9. Cleans exterior of bus as needed.
10. Completes daily log forms and other required paper work accurately and promptly.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Valid Washington State School Bus Driver’s Endorsement and CDL License.
2. Valid First Aid Card
3. Annual In-service
4. Physical/every two years
