What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home-Based Academic Tutor position at Collaborative for Educational Services?
The Migrant Education Program (MEP) is a federally funded Title 1 program to provide supplemental support services to a population of students whose parents/family members or the students themselves are employed doing migraotry work in the agricultural or fishing industries. The program offers high quality and comprehensive educational programs and services during teh school year, and as applicable, during the summer. These programs are designed to address the unique educational needs of migratory students and youth.
Spanish speaking home-based tutors are needed to provide instructional support and homework assistance to individual and small groups of students. Visits will range from 45-90 minutes per visit with 1-2 visits and can take place at the student's home or in school, library or another public space nearby. Most, if not all students are level 1 or 2 EL and many are newly arrived to the United States.
