Facility Overview
At Ocean View Psychiatric Health Facility, we are committed to serving as a community resource, providing the highest quality of mental health services. Currently, Ocean View operates as an adult 39-bed voluntary acute inpatient facility, offering private rooms and individualized care through a multi-disciplinary approach focusing on compassionate care and best practices. We also provide Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) services to ensure a continuum of care after acute stabilization. We are currently in the process of expanding our Long Beach facility to 80 beds, offering a locked facility setting for those who meet intensive mental health criteria. Additionally, our expansion plans to other areas are progressing rapidly, and we anticipate that our Colton location in San Bernadino County, will be operational by mid-2025.
NOC LVN Position Overview
Pay: $32 - $38 / Hour $2 shift differential (NOC shift)
Ocean View Licensed Vocational Nurses play crucial roles in recovery for each of their patients. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, LVNs work as the medication nurse and/or floor nurse. This position is under the direct supervision of an RN Charge Nurse while on shift. Adhere to OVPHF standard operating procedure and processes as well as best practices. Follow shift assignments and perform nursing activities such that quality care is provided in compliance with facility and regulatory standards. Assist with admissions and discharges. Ensure accurate and complete written documentation in the medical record. Complete all documentation within program established timeframes. Actively participate in treatment team meetings as indicated. Developing on-going care plans. Provide medication services including administration accurately and maintain the medication room/cart according to good clinical practice and regulations. Monitor Patients for adverse drug reactions and report any such reactions to the physician, pharmacist, and charge nurse. Know side effects, normal dosage, and contraindications of all medications given. Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice as directed by Physician.

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of Vocational Nursing or Psychiatric Technology required.
- Two (2) years’ experience with mentally ill patients or equivalent inpatient psychiatric experience required.
- Current, valid, and unrestricted California LVN or LPT license.
- Ability to pass facility medication test during orientation period and prior to passing medications.
- Current CPR/BLS/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Demonstrates competencies and knowledge in mental/behavioral health.
- Ability to speak, read, and write legibly in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a mental health focused setting
- IV Certification preferred.
- Associate's degree
- Ability to physically assist in lifting and carrying assaultive Patients weighing 100 lbs plus
- Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with seriously and persistently mentally ill Patients, other staff members, physicians and the public (including vendors).
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
