We are a high volume Civil Litigation Law Firm seeking an Associate Attorney licensed to practice in California. Litigation experience preferred, but not required; the firm will train the right candidate.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Litigation experience and collection experience preferred
- Experience attending hearings and taking depositions
- Great work ethic and commitment to professionalism
- Ability to handle high case load with limited supervision
- Reviewing and signing demand letters
- Reviewing and signing pleadings
- Negotiating settlements
- Keeping track of calendar/tasks
- Meeting deadlines
- Client and attorney communications
- Management of report and client information in case management system
- Routine communications with clients
- Prepare and draft legal documents (ex. Discovery, motions)
- Comply with all legal standards and regulations, specifically the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
Qualifications:
- Licensed in CA
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under pressure.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with basic state and federal collection laws, including the FDCPA a plus
