Job Purpose
The Stewardship Officer reports directly to the Executive Director of Stewardship, Donor Relations and Communications and is responsible for supporting the department’s efforts to steward donors by producing timely and meaningful donor impact reporting and correspondence, writing stories for donor publications, carrying a portfolio of donors for stewardship and gift renewal activities, coordinating donor and scholarship recipient interactions, and drafting gift agreements.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a non-profit or university advancement department, or related professional background. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Must possess strong communication and writing skills that clearly convey information in writing and in person. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Position requires knowledge of and experience in basics of donor stewardship and engagement. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Proven project management skills and ability to prioritize. Candidates must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment (with a variety of people at all levels of the university) as well as take initiative independently. Strong interpersonal skills. Experience using constituent databases, preferably Raiser’s Edge and some experience with graphic design software like Canva. Commitment to respect and maintain confidentiality of donor information.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
Evening and weekend work may be required.
