What are the responsibilities and job description for the Station Chef II position at College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University, Order of Saint Benedict?
The Culinary Service Department at the College of Saint Benedict invites applicants for the full-time (.75 FTE), benefit-eligible position of Station Chef II.
Variety of shifts available, including, but not limited to, 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 11am-7pm and 1pm-9pm. This person would work 4 days a week and every other weekend, making a 5-day week (37.5 hours/week). During the summer, averaging 20 hours per week, based on the needs of the operation. Additional summer hours available in other campus area.
This position is responsible for the prepping, production, sanitation, and appearance of assigned station(s). This position will be expected to learn and be proficient on all stations including back of the house and catering.

- Ensures timely delivery of prepared foods to service area throughout mealtimes
- Ensures proper care, cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned spaces and equipment.
- Directs, trains, and advises student and workers in execution of assigned duties.
- Attends in-services and meetings as required.
- Observes and implements safety and sanitation procedures.
- Fills in for Station Chef III on days off
- Performs other work-related duties as required.
- Student labor assigned to station
- High School Diploma required, 6 – 12 months related experience or equivalent training
- Ability to read, write, and follow directions
- Good verbal and interpersonal skills
- Must be neat and clean in appearance
- A good sense of timing and the abilities to think on your feet, and prioritize tasks
- Ability to lift and move 50 lbs
- Able to work varied hours, days, and workstations as needed
- Must be comfortable in front of customers, even under stressful situations
- Must be comfortable working, directing and training student labor
- Ability to work under varied environmental conditions including periods of high heat and below freezing temperatures.
