Overview

We are seeking highly-motivated students to join our Survey/Geospatial Discipline in our Holmdel, NJ office.

Headquartered in Holmdel, New Jersey with 80 offices throughout the United States, we specialize in providing a comprehensive suite of services including: civil/site, transportation, MEP (mechanical, electrical & plumbing) engineering, architecture, geospatial/survey, infrastructure, governmental, geotechnical/environmental, telecommunications and utilities engineering. Responsibilities

  • Assist technical staff on day-to-day projects in their respective discipline.
  • Transform field collected electronic files into Autodesk Civil 3D (CAD) produced drawings.
  • Work with more senior staff to produce SUE, ALTA, Boundary, Topographic Surveys, As-Built drawings, maps, Specific Purpose Surveys, Plot plans and Subdivision Record.
  • Plats by using Autodesk Civil 3D (CAD).
  • Will also work in the field on control, topographic surveys, and pipeline surveys as Instrument Man of a one, two or three-person field crew.
  • May also perform some office duties, including data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks and staking computations using survey computer programs and AutoCAD.
  • Performs mathematical calculations and field checking of field data.
  • Reads and understands plans and specifications.
  • Work alongside junior and senior level engineers to execute project deadlines.
  • Network with current Colliers Engineering & Design professionals and gain real-life experience in consulting.
  • In addition to the work-centered program, we also offer robust internship programming, which includes opportunities to work with other interns, learn about other areas of the business, and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections.

Qualifications

  • Interested or currently pursuing an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Land Surveying, Geomatics, CADD, Engineering Technologies.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the office/field.
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD preferred.
  • Experience with Civil3D a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess solid problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office.
  • Be able to carry up to forty pounds of equipment up flights of stairs.
  • Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour (depending on qualifcations)
