What You'll Do (No Web-slinging Required)
As an Auto Body Technician, you’ll be the hero behind the scenes, transforming damaged vehicles into smooth, shiny rides again. Here’s how you’ll help save the day:
- Examine and plan: Evaluate damage like a pro and map out the best game plan for repairs. Efficiency is key!
- Team up: Keep your team in the loop about the status of repairs, and if you run into any challenges that could change the delivery time, let them know ASAP (teamwork makes the dream work!).
- Stay sharp and safe: Keep your tools in tip-top shape, and make sure your workspace is cleaner than Aunt May’s kitchen. Always wear your safety gear and follow the rules when handling hazardous waste.
- Collaborate: Help out your fellow techs when needed, because we’re all in this together. The ultimate goal? Getting those cars back on the road, good as new!
- You’ve got 1-3 years of experience in collision repair and know your way around vehicle structures like I know my way around skyscrapers.
- You can remove and replace damaged parts faster than you can say “Friendly Neighborhood Auto Tech.”
- You’ve got the strength to lift 35 pounds on the regular, and sometimes over 70 pounds (so, pretty strong—but no super-serum required).
- You’ve got serious balance and agility—crawling under cars, stooping, kneeling, and getting into all kinds of positions to get the job done.
- Got a driver’s license? Sweet! If you’ve got I-CAR® or ASC certifications, that’s even better!
