Operator - Douglas, WY

Colonial Chemical Solutions, Inc. (CCS), a leading independent chemical distributor throughout the United States, focuses on customer service, sustainability, and innovative solutions for our business partners.

As an Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts, pumps, and other pieces of equipment. In this role you will be asked to carry out operations as an individual contributor and as part of a team. You will also assist with some of the specialty projects and continuous improvement assignments necessary to sustain critical infrastructure and execution of policies and procedures. The Operator will have a direct impact on our ability to perform work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

• Operate a forklift.
• Perform preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Load and unload empty drums from a trailer.
• Lead and participate in training and safety meetings.
• Load/unload route trucks using a forklift or a pallet jack.
• Ability to identify empty packaging.
• Ensure proper labeling of material as needed.
• Ability to maintain and audit cycle counting and inventory data.
• Performance must include good manufacturing practices, safety, and compliance with all company rules and procedures.
• Responsible for managing air shipments.
• Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations (e.g., warehouse clean up).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 24-hour HAZWOPER training is preferred.
• 3 years of relevant work experience (e.g., warehousing, production, loading, unit maintenance) in a chemical plant, manufacturing environment, or military is required.
• Forklift experience is required.
• Must be able to understand and fully comply with all laws governing the trucking, chemical and warehousing industries.
• Ability to lead small teams is preferred.
• Experience with handling hazardous material is required.
• Must be proficient in math, English language reading comprehension, and mechanical reasoning with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with coworkers and clients in a professional manner is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
