Description
Colorado Academy’s Office of Advancement seeks an Events Manager. The position plays a key role in uniting the CA community. The core functions of the position are to manage and implement the logistics of Advancement-related events and other special events, and to plan and oversee CA’s Series for Parent Education About Kids (SPEAK) series. The person in this position works with the Advancement team, school administration, Board of Trustees, and volunteer leadership on community-building and major fundraising events, to ensure that goals and timelines are met or exceeded. As part of that, the position coordinates and represents the school with vendors and sponsors. This position also plays a key role in donor relations and stewardship, interacting with donors through events and ongoing communications.
This position is a full-time, year-round position reporting to the Director of Advancement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Director of Advancement to set annual events plan and strategy to drive revenue and donor engagement
- Work with Advancement Team to develop and implement all aspects of CA’s major fundraising events, including management of event committees and meeting of fundraising goals
- Manage a variety of donor stewardship events throughout the year, including on-site and off-site events
- Work collaboratively with other departments outside of Advancement on CA community events (admissions, communications, college counseling, etc)
- Coordinate and handle logistics for CA’s SPEAK lecture program including guest logistics - SPEAK topics educate and strengthen relationships with our school and our children
- Manage budgets and timelines for all events; communicate needs and changes effectively
- Manage event vendors and coordinate event-related contracts and vendor agreements.
- Track details of each event, including finances, and provide a final event report and recommendations for the future
- Coordinate events in partnership with CA Parent Association
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by assisting Advancement team members in their roles as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proven event management experience with project management skills
- Excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills; must be detail-oriented
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience working with volunteers; has ability to recruit, train, and manage parent volunteers and volunteer committees
- Ability to work effectively, collaboratively and professionally with diverse groups of people at all levels within an organization required
- Experience in managing event budgets
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Zoom, and has some knowledge of database management, preferably Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge
- Experience in planning, executing, managing, monitoring, and recording of remote events.
- Experience in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours to support evening and weekend events as required

The pay range for this for the position is $60,000 - $75,000. Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any discrepancies that may exist do not relate to sex.
