Utility Worker II (Dam Maintenance)
We are hiring a Utility Worker II to support our Raw Water Operations team. In this job you will be responsible for maintaining over 20 Dams annually by removing vegetation, performing erosion control, rodent control, and removing debris to improve the reliability and safety of our infrastructure and water transmission system. As a Utility Worker, you will work in different beautiful, remote locations, performing skilled labor to maintain Colorado Springs Utilities' dams.
The pay rate for a Utility Worker II is $26.58/hr.
How you’ll spend your time…
- Removing vegetation growth from dams
- Operating weed eaters/ mowers and troubleshooting grounds-keeping equipment
- Performing work in remote locations
- Managing time, projects, and activities, while working with a small crew
- Meeting Dam inspection schedules and criteria
Qualifications…
- A valid Driver’s License is required
- A CDL is preferred, but not required; for those candidates who currently possess a CDL, you will be put into a CDL pool once hired
- Maintaining cooperative working relationships in a team environment
- Basic computer skills
- Using hand tools/mechanical knowledge
- Operating specialized equipment and vehicles
- Experience in groundskeeping is preferred
- Great communication skills are a must
- A Safety-First orientation and approach to work are required
