Position: Housing Navigator
Reports to: Manager of Case Management
Location: Denver
Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,000 - $48,000 generous benefits including 401k matching, 100% employer-paid premiums for health, dental, vision; paid vacation, holiday pay, and paid parental leave
Colorado Village Collaborative seeks a Housing Navigator with experience managing a caseload of about 20-30 people.
The Housing Navigator reports to the Manager of Case Management and provides direct service housing navigation to the community members at one of our Micro-Community (MC) sites. The Housing Navigator will assist MC Community members to move into permanent housing by working closely with prospective landlords, partner landlords, program participants,and partner agencies (case managers and program directors).
Schedule / Hours
- 40 hrs/wk, flexible with some nights and weekends may be needed
- Additional time will be spent in organizational meetings, meeting with external partners and coalitions, meeting with MC community members, etc.
Key Area # 1- Housing Navigation
- Remain culturally attuned to the people of the community being served, able to communicate, be sensitive and compassionate.
- Develop relationships with partner agencies, rental assistance programs, housing programs, and landlords or property management groups.
- Be connected with allies, service agencies and critical decision makers within various systems.
- Maintain and regularly update housing lists with detailed information to match clients with suitable housing options to help guide clients to permanent housing.
- Link participants with appropriate resources and appropriate referrals to outside agencies.
- Work directly with case managers to understand specific needs of clients including necessary paperwork for applying for housing (including identification, supportive documentation, etc.)
- Track referred individuals and ensure progression through the housing process.
- Encourage self-advocacy skills among the client base, so they gain confidence with basic system navigation.
Key Area #2 - Data Collection and Documentation
- Assist with the preparation of grant specific mid-year learnings calls and year-end reporting.
- Ensure the maintenance of confidentiality of all client information.
- See to it that all necessary documentation including HMIS is completed in a timely manner.
- Complete all required forms and reports in a complete and timely manner.

- Attends and participates in formal and informal staff meetings and addresses client and program issues.

Requirements
Qualifications Summary
- BSW preferred, can substitute experience with a High School Diploma..
- Experience in operating computerized office equipment and telephones.
- Must possess a Colorado driver’s license and state-mandated automobile insurance.
- Must possess a personal vehicle that may be used for work-related travel (reimbursement for mileage is available).
