The Capacity Operator at Colorcon’s Chalfont, PA site, works in our production areas and is responsible for manufacturing quality products efficiently, accurately, safely, and on time for our No-Tox business.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Gather raw materials for batch using RF system.
- Weigh off raw materials, pour batches into containers, transfer drummed material into processing vessels, and transfer product to different manufacturing areas while following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Push, pull and transfer vessels and other mobile equipment to various locations in the production area.
- Clean and disinfect work areas by sweeping, mopping, cleaning equipment with solvent, water and caustic detergents, dismantling and reassembling equipment, and entering confined spaces to scrub containers.
- Operate various equipment and instrumentation safely, according to procedure and with little supervision. Equipment may include, but not limited to 3 roll mills, bead mills, vertical post mixers, pumps, forklifts, hand trucks, and RF units.
- Document all batch sheet data and cleaning logs using cGMP quality standards.
- Stage finished products to shipping or finished product transfer point.
- Adhere to safety and quality protocols and procedures.
- Wear the appropriate level of personal protective equipment required for each manufacturing task. This includes wearing hairnets and beard covers, safety glasses, and other necessary PPE.
- Train other operators as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year manufacturing or production experience, preferred.
- Proficient math skills, reading comprehension skills, mechanical aptitude, and dexterity.
- Ability to comprehend detailed written instructions and procedures.
- Must be able to discern colors.
- Possess the physical ability to lift and move 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 1000 lbs. repetitively.
- Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
