Overview: ColorPop is a vibrant art studio for children ages 3-12 (with the occasional adult class or event), offering painting, clay and mixed media camps, workshops, drop-in sessions, and special events. We are seeking dedicated Studio Assistant Managers to support the daily operations of the studio, ensuring a positive and efficient environment for both staff and students. This role involves assisting the Studio Manager in overseeing studio activities, managing staff, and providing exceptional customer service. The Assistant Manager will also play a key role in program development and execution.These roles ensure the smooth functioning of the studio while maintaining a welcoming and inspiring environment for children and families.
Hours:
- Weekday Assistant Manager:
- Monday - Friday: 12pm-6pm
- Weekend Assistant Manager:
- Saturday - Sunday: 9am-5pm
*These are current studio hours. The schedule will be discussed and finalized.
Responsibilities:
- Studio Operations:
- Assist in opening and closing the studio, ensuring all setup and cleanup tasks are completed efficiently.
- Support the Studio Manager in overseeing daily schedules for classes, drop-ins, and special events.
- Ensure all supplies are organized, restocked, and readily available for staff and students.
- Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:
- Collaborate with the Studio Manager to develop ongoing curriculums for weekly workshops and camp events.
- Ensure material lists are prepared for each class, so the studio is stocked ahead of time for planned activities.
- Serve as a supporting teacher for workshops and camps, providing engaging and age-appropriate instruction alongside the lead teacher.
- Assist in guiding children through creative projects, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Class and Drop-In Assistance:
- Help children set up their painting and clay projects, ensuring they have the necessary materials.
- Replenish paint palettes and other supplies as needed during classes.
- Provide clear, engaging instructions to assist kids with techniques and creativity.
- Offer one-on-one support and encouragement to students during sessions.
- Team Supervision:
- Support the management of Art Teachers and Studio Assistants during shifts, ensuring a cohesive team environment.
- Assist in assigning tasks and monitoring performance to maintain a high-quality experience for visitors.
- Provide hands-on assistance with classes and drop-in sessions when needed.
- Customer Engagement:
- Greet families, answer inquiries, and provide information about studio programs and offerings.
- Assist with check-ins, registrations, and payments when necessary.
- Address and resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Event Coordination:
- Assist in executing birthday parties, workshops, and other special events, ensuring they run smoothly.
- Safety and Cleanliness:
- Ensure studio spaces are clean, organized, and safe for children and families.
- Enforce studio policies to create a positive and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Reporting:
- Communicate daily updates, issues, and accomplishments to the Studio Manager.
- Track attendance, supply usage, and customer feedback to inform management decisions.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a supervisory role, ideally in a creative, educational, or customer-facing environment.
- Background in art or education preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekdays (Monday-Friday) and weekends (Friday-Sunday).
- CPR Certification
