Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or other health challenges. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care and possess relevant experience in home and community care settings.

Duties

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Support residents with medication administration and monitor vital signs as needed
  • Provide patient observation to ensure safety and well-being
  • Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions
  • Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe transfer procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning and sanitation tasks
  • Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, or autism care
  • Monitor residents’ health status, report changes to healthcare professionals, and document observations in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and community involvement
  • Support residents during outings or community integration activities while ensuring safety

Experience
Candidates should have prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments. Experience with patient care, medication administration, Alzheimer’s or dementia care, hospice or long-term care is highly desirable. Skills such as first aid, CPR certification, HIPAA compliance, working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders, and familiarity with care plans are preferred. Experience operating mobility aids like Hoyer lifts and performing vital signs monitoring is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate patience, empathy, strong observational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Heavy lifting capability is necessary for assisting residents with transfers. Prior social work or home health experience will be considered a plus for those committed to providing compassionate support in diverse settings.

Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

  • Day Shift (Preferred)
