JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Senior Logistics Specialist will be responsible for all international freight shipments and will act as the liaison with all parties to ensure a smooth and complete transaction. This will include but not be limited to the planning and execution of Colson’s logistics processes to dispatch, track, and manage shipment bookings, maintenance of records and costs, keeping a repository of accurate documentation, identification of risks and opportunities, and interacting with freight agents. This position will be based at the Colson Group corporate office located in Saint Joseph, MI and will be a fully onsite role.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provides support during contract review, negotiations, and RFPs.
- Resolve problem shipments, assess supply chain concerns, and effectively communicate with other departments and stakeholders
- GL Coding of invoices – Domestic & International
- AFS Management
- Responsible for Claims Management on international and domestic shipments that may be over-shipped, mis-shipped, or short-shipped and damaged freight
- Report on claims monthly per category and track for successful closure
- Preparing data for our Duty Drawback program
- USMCA/COO Preparation
- Provide cost estimates on request to internal end users, for movement of goods to domestic /overseas destinations based upon use of appropriate carrier and modes of transport (Air, Sea, Rail, and Ocean)
- Container Dropship Forecasting & Invoicing
- Daily Container Tracking and Air Freight Shipments
- Performs other duties and projects as required
