Quality Assurance Engineer

Columbia Energy & Environmental Services, Inc. (Columbia Energy) is a full-service engineering and fabrication company that has supported the nuclear, defense, energy, and hazardous waste industries for over 30 years. With our roots in Richland, WA, assisting with nuclear cleanup at Hanford, we have grown into an established small business. Our services include engineering, design, fabrication, instrumentation and controls, and technology development. We specialize in fixed-price design/build/test projects for federal and commercial clients. Columbia Energy is currently seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team.
This is an on-site position in which the selected candidate will work from either our Idaho Falls, ID, or Richland, WA facility, depending on their location. Occasional travel between the two locations may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Quality Assurance Manager: Assist in the planning, execution, and reporting of quality assurance activities to ensure project success.
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to ASME NQA-1 requirements, safety programs, industry standards, laws, codes, technical specifications, and customer contracts.
- Documentation Management: Collect, verify, process, and archive project documentation, ensuring that all records are complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Customer Interaction: Represent the company positively by maintaining a customer-centric attitude, ensuring clients are informed and satisfied throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation Package Delivery: Prepare, review, and deliver comprehensive documentation packages to clients, ensuring all necessary certifications, records, and reports are included.
- Review Manufacturing Travelers: Verify manufacturing documentation to ensure that all quality control steps have been completed and recorded properly.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Audit Support: Participate in internal and external quality audits, ensuring full compliance with all applicable standards and addressing any findings or recommendations promptly.
- Perform Inspections: Conduct dimensional, visual, and other inspections as required to verify product conformance to project specifications and requirements.
- Other Tasks: Perform additional quality assurance and control tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team and organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail with an internal and external customer-centric attitude.
- Proven ability to organize and complete tasks efficiently and on time.
- Experience in quality assurance, specifically within ASME NQA-1 environments.
- Ability to represent the company positively and maintain excellent customer relationships.

Working Conditions:
This position will involve both office and manufacturing environment duties. Occasional travel between facilities in Idaho Falls, ID, and Richland, WA may be required.
