TITLE: Nonpublic School Title I Instructional Support Coach
REPORTS TO: NPSS
Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY: The Columbus City School
District is accepting applications for the position of Nonpublic
School Title I Instructional Support Coach. This role requires a wide range of skills
that must be continuously cultivated through ongoing professional development. This
role requires the individual to provide supplemental
reading or math instruction to CCS Title I students, a minimum 40% of
the time working directly with students, and 60% of the time serving as an
instructional coach. The individual selected is responsible for ensuring
learning experiences are consistent with the mission statement and
instructional goals of the district. The process of selective interviewing will
be used.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Ohio
Teaching certification/licensure
o
Elementary (1-8),
Kindergarten-Elementary (K-8 Pre-K-3; K-3, 4-9)
o
Experience with and
knowledge of state standards, instructional pedagogy and strategies
·
Interpersonal
skills necessary to communicate effectively and work productively with the
administrative team, staff, students, parents and community
·
Three years of
successful teaching experience
·
Demonstrated
ability to handle challenging situations in a tactful, courteous and respectful
manner
·
Strong written
and verbal communication skills, including effective presentation skills
·
Demonstrate
ability to develop and maintain collegial, cooperative relations with students,
parents, community and administrative staff
·
Sophisticated
sense of how to use multiple data sources to diagnose and intervene to address
and improve student instructional needs
·
Strong skills in
reading/literacy pedagogy, content and strategies
·
May require
extended time for professional development
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
·
Demonstrate
knowledge and understanding of the teaching of reading
and/or math, child growth and development, evidence-based
reading and/or math instructional practices and demonstrate ability to
teach
·
Identify specific
CCS Title I student needs and develop customized
professional development to build the capacity of teachers
who have CCS Title I students in their classrooms, while creating a
culture of collaborative support
·
Enroll in
coursework or training and successfully complete assignments and fieldwork as
required for the evidence-based Title I reading and/or
math program/strategies
·
Support the CCS Title I program
·
Provide resources
and training opportunities for professional growth for classroom
teachers who have CCS Title I students on evidence-based reading and/or math
practices
·
Analyze and
promote the use of assessment data for instructional planning, student
achievement and school improvement as well as use of the data to determine
student selection and target the lowest performing students.
·
Provide
instructional guidance to Title I instructional assistants
and tutors
·
Promote the
growth and development of teachers to improve student learning by providing
instructional coaching and non-evaluative feedback
·
Model effective,
research-based methodologies and practices
·
Integrate
technology within professional development
·
Maintain current
knowledge of best practices, trends and new developments in reading and/or math
·
Provide reports
to principals and district personnel as scheduled and requested
·
Performs all
other duties as assigned by the NPSS Supervisor that
are permissible under federal grant guidelines
·
Provide supplemental reading and/or math instruction to identified
