QUALIFICATIONS

At least a bachelor’s degree in area of education
from an accredited four-year college/university

Must be willing to be a member of a
multi-disciplinary team focusing on the emotional and mental well-being of
school aged students
·
Must be willing to participate in a continuing
education to build knowledge base and skill level
·
Strong communication skills
·
Adequate knowledge of student with Emotional and
Behavioral Disorders
KNOWLEDGE OF
·
The characteristics and various diagnoses of
student with Emotional and Behavioral disorders
·
Familiarity with various assessment tools,
methods and functional behavior assessments
·
Data collection
·
Principles, theories, practices and techniques
used in curriculum development and classroom instruction for students ranging
from Kindergarten through 12th grade
·
Curriculum and lesson plan development including
differentiation
·
Positive Behavior Support Strategies
·
Strategies to improve or manage sensory
regulation dysfunction across environments
·
Strategies to improve communication and social
integration skills across environments
·
Strategies to de-escalate behaviors
DESCRIPTION
·
Provide education to student from across Ohio in
The Ohio State University-Harding Hospital
·
Follow all Federal and State Guidelines for
Education of Children with Disabilities, IDEIA and the Operating Standards for
Ohio’s Schools Serving Children with Disabilities
·
Participate in daily and weekly meetings with
faculty and staff
·
Conduct short pre- and post-assessments to
monitor individual student progress
·
Support parents and family members as active
participants in all aspects of the students’ education
·
Communicate with the school district of resident
to obtain any necessary paperwork (IEP, class work)
·
Communicate with the school district of
residence regarding needs for the student when returning back to school; this
could include coordinating a meeting with hospital and school staff
·
Prepare lesson plans that are developed around
each child’s needs, using a variety of instructional formats
·
Meet schedules and timelines as determine by
team
·
Follow Columbus City Schools’ calendar
·
Complete out of district bulling documents as
directed by supervisor
·
Complete other duties as assigned
