What are the responsibilities and job description for the Correctional Detail Officer - CO1 - Stormwater position at Columbus Consolidated Government?
Knowledge of the principles and practices of the installation, maintenance and repair of storm water drainage systems. Knowledge of relevant Department of Corrections guidelines and federal and state laws pertaining to the incarceration of persons. Knowledge of the principles and practices of First Aid and CPR. Knowledge of the tools and equipment used in the installation, repair and maintenance of storm water systems. Skill in implementing policies and procedures. Skill in problem solving and decision-making. Skill in the supervision of inmate laborers. Skill in oral and written communication.
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. No experience requirements. Possession of or ability to readily obtain certification by the Georgia Department of Corrections. This position is required to supervise state inmate labor. Employee must pass P.O.S.T. certification within the time frame required by this department, which is normally within six months but may be altered. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
