What are the responsibilities and job description for the Neuro Diagnostic Technologist position at Columbus Regional Hospital?
What you need to know about this position:
- Provides direct patient diagnostic testing and treatment through assessment and independent judgment
- This job provides all Neurodiagnostic testing (EEG and Evoked Potential testing) Requiring a highly skilled, experienced and extensively trained Individual.
- The position also requires cross-training in Polysomnography (sleep testing) for daytime sleep testing.
- This position requires the individual to work inpatient settings, which include ICU, Neonatal Nursery, Cancer Center, Recovery, Emergency Room, and all Nursing Units. Outpatient settings which include EEG and the Sleep Diagnostics Center
- Implements diagnostic process and secures quality patient recordings. Educates patient and family.
- Customers served include patients, families, physicians, community, peers, medical groups, internal staff, regulatory agencies and other providers.
- When the Department Manager is unavailable, night staff shall contact the Neurodiagnostics Tech for assistance with department issues. The Administrative Director for the Rehabilitation Service Line is also available as a resource.
- The base hourly rate for this position is $23.70. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
- This PRN position would require you to work 7:00AM-3:30PM, as needed by the department.
What is required for this position:
Education and/or Experience- One year certificate from college or technical school; six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Enrollment in or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. (CAAHEP) accredited Neurodiagnostic Program is desired.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- The END Technologist must be certified in CPR
- The Individual must be credentialed by the American Board of Registered Technologist (ABRET) in Encephalography achieving R.EEG.T or R.EP.T credentialing.
- If board eligible the requirement will be to become Board Registered within 2 years from hire.
