Overview
Wilds housekeepers kick off each day with a brief team meeting and supply gathering – then they're off and into The Wilds! As a housekeeper, working with a partner your day consists of cleaning and maintaining The Wilds various facilities. One day you may clean offices in our animal management facilities – the next may be spent turning over our lodging facilities for our overnight guests. There is never a dull moment when working as part of The Wilds amazing housekeeping team!
Responsibilities
- Act as a representative of the Wilds including appropriate dress, language, and attitude.
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all visitor areas during operation hours which include the Johnson Center, Overlook, Shelters and Carnivore.
- Responsible for maintaining all housekeeping storage areas.
- Responsible for inventory of all housekeeping supplies.
- Responsible for cleaning the Wilds administration building, clinic, animal management office/hoofstock building, operations support center, lakeside cabins, training center, lodge and Nomad Ridge.
- Responsible for daily trash removal/disposal.
- Responsible for removal/disposal of all recyclables according to the recycling policy.
- Strives to further the mission of the organization and support the Wilds, Zoo, Zoombezi Bay and Safari Golf Club.
- Posted schedule may be subject to change based on operational needs such as weather condition, guest attendance and department needs.
Qualifications
- Must be 16 years old or older.
- Positive, professional attitude.
- Ability to adapt easily to changing circumstances in a busy work place.
- Ability to operate a two-way radio.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including holidays, weekends and evenings.
- Ability to provide excellent guest service and uphold the Make it G.R.E.A.T. standards.
- Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with all Wilds/Zoo team members.
- Communicate well both verbally and in writing required.
- Plan and organize work in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license and a good driving record is a must.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
