Performs basic audits of operating units; conducts reviews of EGD (slot), sports betting, and related software report information and will review department daily revenue with table game stats to determine accuracy of financial information; performs accounting functions and maintains records in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), established policies and procedures, Tribal, State and NIGC requirements; performs duties in a guest service friendly, efficient and profitable manner that promotes superior team member, guest and vendor relations.

Essential Functions:

  • Examines operations and procedures for compliance with established policy.
  • Reviews master game reports and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Performs general sorting, filing, and other clerical duties.
  • Produces EGD journal and sports betting information for entry into accounting system.
  • Maintains daily postings in binder.
  • Enters data into system to generate daily, weekly, monthly and yeartoyear date reports.
  • Reviews and verifies Food & Beverage, Sweet Shop, Hotel, Spa and other Revenue Center reports for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepares daily worksheets for Revenue Centers.
  • Track and verify Free Play.
  • Reviews and verifies Merchant Revenue for accuracy.
  • Posts daily revenues into computerized revenue journal.
  • Prepares documentation and/or findings report; may participate in review of findings with management.
  • Completes Exception reports and distributes to management when necessary and document when errors are found during review process.
  • Acts as backup for other accounting team member.
  • Provides superior guest service to team members and managers with professional, timely, and thorough responses using multiple communication avenues if needed.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • Provides a high standard of professionalism and guest service.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Must be at least 18 years or older.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
  • Must successfully pass the 10key administered test with at least 60% or higher.
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends.
  • Ability to clearly communicate or present findings and numerical data.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency in Windows based programs.
  • Ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work closely, productively, and professionally with other individuals in a team environment to fulfill duties/assignments.
  • Must have good organizational skills and be able to complete clerical duties quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and nonverbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language.
  • Ability to work variable hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must successfully complete Title 31, Banking Secrecy Act training upon hire and annually.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Manual and finger dexterity as required to perform daily job duties.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally walk or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently bend, squat and reach.
  • Ability to frequently push and pull 10 pounds.
  • Ability to seldom push and pull 50 pounds.
  • Ability to be given verbal and written instruction and apply the instruction accurately.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to write, recognize printed materials, computer screen, and notice nonverbal behavior.
  • Speech and hearing ability to project voice to small and large audiences, carry on telephone conversations, hear and grasp verbal communications and equipment prompts.
  • May be exposed to a high level of noise in the work environment.
  • May be exposed to tobacco smoke, fumes or airborne particles.
