Accounting Manager
Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions of the organization. This position ensures compliance with GAAP, all applicable tax and accounting regulations and manages the preparation and filing of all necessary financial statements. The successful candidate is motivated, a self-starter, has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of accounting principles and processes.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee the preparation of consolidated, divisional and branch financial statements while ensuring that financial reporting is accurate and timely.
· Direct the day-to-day activities of the accounting team and ensure the utilization of the accounting system and automation is optimized.
· Ensure accurate recording of all transactions, while overseeing general ledger, fixed assets, accounts payable, branch statistical and performance reporting, commissions and bonus payment processing, loan servicing related cash transfers and coordinate state and federal tax return submissions with outside tax CPA.
· Analyze financial data for patterns, trends, and anomalies, and recommend corrective action as necessary.
· Oversee and ensure that GL accounts and bank reconciliations are always up to date.
· Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
· Coordinate the annual audit with outside CPA firm.
· Provide financial guidance and support to department heads, and ensure that all financial decisions are in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
· Assign, direct, mentor and supervise the accounting team.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
· Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting and finance preferred.
· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
· Mortgage banking background is a huge plus!
· Advanced knowledge of GAAP and federal and state tax laws.
· Experience in supervising accounting staff.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
· Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
