Surgical First Assistant - MMG Orthopedics

DEFINITION: 

Under the direction of the Surgeon, the Surgical First Assistant (non physician) assists in the performance of any surgical procedure, working under the surgeon’s direction and delivery of patient care as a member of the surgical team, assumes appropriate responsibility for delivery of that care before, during and after surgery.

EDUCATION: 

Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technologist preferred.
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical technologist preferred.  Certification as Surgical Tech, preferred.
