Fabricator/Welder

Description

Position Summary:

Layout, fit and fabricate metal components to assemble sheet metal fittings, transitions and duct work in a timely manner.

JOB LOCATION:    SPRINGFIELD, OREGON   Do not apply if you do not live in the area or plan on moving to this area.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences and required methods and materials according to blueprints, drawings and verbal instruction
• Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes
• Manually guide gun along weld line maintaining length of arc and speed of movement
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions
• Change hoses, fittings, air valves and other parts
• Examine weld for bead size and other specifications
• Inspect assemblies for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments required
• Perform all necessary maintenance and repairs on all equipment used for welding
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Capable of performing a wide variety of welding functions
• Ability to operate various types of welding equipment
• Ability to work well independently or as a team
• Ability to identify and measure material
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
• 1 years previous welding experience
• Previous experience in a fabrication or construction environment is preferred
• Degree or certification from relevant trade school or apprenticeship preferred
• Ability to interpret drawings and blue prints

Noise level is moderate to high. Must work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts.
