The Comfort Inn & Suites St. Paul Northeast is seeking a highly motivated Pool Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the pool area when our 90 foot water slide feature operates, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction and safety.
This is a part time, hourly position and must have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions:
- Maintain cleanliness in the pool area and back of house pool equipment room.
- Monitor pool area and keep order with guests. Safety first mindset is a must!
- Measure and monitor pool and spa chemical levels. Understand what to do if changes need to be made.
- Check and control wristband policy in place for guests who will have access to the pool area. Enforce policy professionally and with efficiency to ensure high quality customer service.
- Communicate with guests and employees both verbally and in writing to answer questions and provide clear direction.
- Ensure Front Office staff provides guests with prompt service, professional attention and personal recognition.
- Ensure guests are greeted upon arrival and make time to interact effectively with guest. Respond appropriately to guest complaints, solicit feedback and build relationships to drive continuous improvement in guest satisfaction.
- Work 3 shifts a week in the pool area/general public space.
- Additional duties assigned as needed.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions. The time spent performing each function will be determined by the particular requirements of the hotel.
- Helping with laundry to ensure towels for the pool area is always stocked with towels.
- Conduct routine inspections of the front office and public areas and take immediate action to correct any deficiencies.
- Perform other duties as requested. Example: special request from guests.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to control and enforce policy with guests in a high traffic area of the facility.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with employees and guests.
- Basic math skills as needed for pool chemical readings
- Ability to analyze statistical data and make decisions accordingly.
- Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, some of whom will require a high level of patience, tact and diplomacy, to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to react to potential emergencies with a professional demeanor and sense of urgency.
