CNA

We are currently seeking dedicated and caring CNA to join our team in our sub-acute rehabilitation unit. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and support to individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. You will work under the supervision of licensed nurses and contribute to a positive and healing environment for our patients.

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and ambulation.
• Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) as directed.
• Observe patients for changes in condition and report any concerns to the nursing staff immediately.
• Assist with a range of motion exercises and other therapeutic activities as directed.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.

• Six (6) months of recent hospital or long-term care facility experience as a CNA
• High school education
• Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant program
• Nurse Assistant Certification (CT NA)
• CPR certification (CT CPRBLS)

Special Skills:

• Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing clearly, concisely and accurately.
• Ability to utilize and learn new computer programs for documentation
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Operate IVAC thermometer vital sign check machine blood pressure cuff.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures
• Ability to educate family members regarding appropriate activities listed below as indicated by ability of resident and willingness of family
• Ability to perform care functions that may include but not necessarily be limited to:
• • Ambulation
  • Eating assistance
  • ADLs
  • ROM (AROM & PROM)
  • Bowel and Bladder Training
  • Splint/Brace/Prosthesis placement/care

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
