Comprehensive Care
Dominican offers emergency services and is a Certified Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center. The hospital’s heart attack treatment times consistently beat the national average, and the hospital offers two cardiac catheterization labs available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Groundbreaking cardiac procedures at Dominican include the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure, which allows for heart valve replacement without opening a patient’s chest.
Dominican Hospital has forged significant partnerships with area hospitals to bring exceptional care to Santa Cruz County. The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is also offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.

Responsibilities
- Assures departmental competency and compliance to all regulatory, accreditation and hospital standards of care.
- Prepares and justifies annual budgeting including, anticipates realistic volume trends, maintains effective staffing and leadership development plans, determines productive and non-productive expenditures, determines and prioritizes capital expedites and determines non-labor expense requirements justified.
- Implements control in fiscal management of the department, manages department budget within fiscal year approved targets, explores and initiates revenue enhancement activities such as program development.
- Develops, implements and monitors department safety management programs which includes Workers' Compensation, patient safety and written safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing or related health care discipline required and/or additional job related experience in lieu of the degree.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of management experience.
- R.N. or RT-AHA healthcare license preferred; ACLS and BLS preferred.
