Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
Maintains cleaning processes for scopes and the cleaning, disinfecting and storage areas on a daily basis.
Assists in preparing procedure areas.
Provides assistance, within scope of licensure/certification, to a licensed health care practitioner with patient care during endoscopy procedures.
Performs routine maintenance of scopes and endoscopic equipment.
Participates in infection control studies.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Either: 1) completion of a gastroenterology or endoscopy technician training program, OR 2) 1 year of related experience in a health care setting with completion of a Medical Assistant, Operating Room Tech or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
License/Certification:
Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor with a 5 year registration through The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution; OR- Current Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Surgical Technologist or Medical Assistant through the State of Washington.
- Current healthcare provider BLS certification.
