Medical Staff Credential Coordinator - Credentialing

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Staff Credential Coordinator. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of medical staff applications, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire credentialing process for all medical staff applicants, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collect, verify, and process all required documentation, including applications, licenses, certifications, and references.
- Conduct primary source verification of credentials and track the status of all applications.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and complete credentialing files.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the Joint Commission.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the credentialing database.
- Generate reports and analyze data related to credentialing activities.
- Assist with the development and implementation of credentialing policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with applicants, medical staff, and other departments.
- Respond to inquiries and provide timely updates on the status of applications.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Medical Staff Science or equivalent courses, training and experience required.
- Must have a minimum of two years experience in Medical Staff Services including credentialing functions.
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist or Certified Professional Medical Services Management preferred. (CT PCS or CPMSM)
- Strong computer and information management skills required.
- Microsoft Word & Google Workspace; Access and other Medical Staff Software preferred.
- Fire Safety Card required. (must obtain it within 90 days of hire. Classes offered at Hospital)
