Position Summary:
Completes the duties of a California licensed Occupational Therapist in compliance to California licensing standards and within the scope of clinical skills required for the patient population being treated and as determined by patient age and diagnosis. Performs the clinical duties of patient evaluation, care planning, treatment intervention, patient/family education, and discharge planning within occupational therapist clinical practice standards. Reports directly to the Rehabilitation Department Manager. Assists in process improvement and other department operations as requested by the department Manager. This person must implement the spirit and philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy and will ensure that the rights of the patient and/or family are safeguarded (by observation and documentation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Entry level accepted.
- Individuals working in the NICU, one year pediatric experience is required
- Registered Occupational Therapist and CPR required.
- Individuals working in NICU with Pediatric patients will be required to work under the supervision of a CCS Paneled Therapist.
Preferred Requirements:
- 1 year of Hospital based, acute care practice
- Completed post Graduate education, or posesses certification or CEU's in Acute care, geriatrics, splinting, hand therapy, orthopaedics, pediatrics, NICU & neurology or any other clinically relevant coursework/seminars
- CCS Paneling for the 0-21 population
Special Skills:
- Must have the ability to read, write, speak and effectively communicate in English.
- Ability to perform basic computer functions.
- Advanced experience with Computer software programs and clinical documentation in Hospital based practice
- Multi-Lingual, Spanish, Tagalog
