- Responsibilities*
- Greet patient and visitor and provide excellent customer service.
- Accurately and efficiently register patients for medical services including verifying patient information and insurance coverage.
- Obtain necessary information such as medical history medications allergies and other related information from patients and ensure that all information is entered correctly into the electronic health record
- Assist patient in filling out necessary paperwork
- Collect copays and outstanding balances at the time of service and provide patients with receipts
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient receive the appropriate care.
- Qualifications*
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department physician office setting healthcare insurance company revenue cycle vendor and/or other revenue cycle related roles
- Education:*
- High School diploma GED or equivalent.
- Skills*:
- Thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Able to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation.
- Experience in requesting and processing financial payments.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Knowledge of charity care programs as well as the various government and non-government programs preferred.
- Fire Safety care required (have 90 days to obtain as of hire date)
- This position is represented by SEIU UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.*
- Pay Range* $24.09 - $30.26 /hour
