Responsibilities
- Assists with the flow of surgical instrumentation between processing and surgery; reads OR schedule, anticipates needs and sets-up OR with required supplies and equipment, for respective case(s). Maintain a clean, sanitary and orderly OR environment.
- Assists with patients, to include transporting and assisting with lifting, turning, positioning and preparing patients for surgical procedures.
- Uses standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment when transporting patients and when working in the OR.
Qualifications
- One year of related work experience in an acute care hospital that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
- Post-high school training specific to health care (i.e., central processing, health care assistant) preferred. Work experience in perioperative or as a military medic/corpsman is preferred.
