Description
The Viral Disease Prevention and Services Branch (VDPSB) is a great opportunity to improve the health of Kentuckians. The Program Coordinator will be coordinating and monitoring a statewide VDPS Branch prevention program, specifically focused on pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) awareness and prevention educational outreach. This role has the ability to make an impact by preventing the spread of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) through education and resources, and in turn, help the commonwealth advance toward the goal of ending the HIV epidemic. If you are a person who loves contributing to the health of populations, this is the job for you.
This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non- merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional experience in management or administration.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.

Responsibilities And Duties
- Coordinates and monitors Viral Disease Prevention and Services Branch (VDPSB) prevention program for all populations on a statewide basis for efforts related to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)
- Provides technical assistance to local health departments (LHDs), community-based organizations (CBO) and other HIV agencies
- Ensures compliance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) evaluation guidance, VDPSB prevention plans, grants and contracts
- Provides technical assistance to LHDs, CBOs and other agencies
- Plans, coordinates and administers PrEP outreach activities across the state per CDC guidance
- Monitors, evaluates and provides guidance to CBOs and LHDs who are awarded contracts for the program
- Interacts with the public and serves as principal contact for PrEP
- Supports community, LHDs and CBOs with implementation of effective human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) behavioral, biomedical and social interventions with a focus on PrEP
- Enters data into CDC Evaluation Web and other electronic systems
- Reviews state and federal legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines pertinent to at-risk populations
- Plans agenda and schedules quarterly PrEP meetings with subrecipients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
