DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will assess and analyze design proposals for bridges and structures, encompassing both single and multi-span concrete or steel frameworks created by external consultants or internal teams. Your responsibilities will include calculating bridge dimensions, plotting grades, and producing comprehensive layouts for structural designs. Additionally, you will verify material quantities for payment, concentrating on structural steel, concrete, and other bridge-related components. Conducting stress analysis and design evaluations for existing structures will be crucial, as you will identify issues and recommend solutions. Your duties will also involve creating material schedules, estimating required quantities, and formulating construction plans for various types of structures. Moreover, you will perform final reviews of bridge structure drawings prior to their submission for approval. Proficiency in CADD and BRADD design software for developing bridge and structural project plans is essential for this role. You will contribute to the preparation of bridge painting programs, including cost estimates and proposals, while collaborating with other agencies to ensure compliance with project standards. Additionally, you will prepare or review a range of reports, applications, calculations, estimates, and plans to adhere to project timelines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Bridge and Structural Draftsman-Designer; or
- Three years of professional experience in bridge and structural design work, including six months involving CADD operation; an Associate's Degree in civil engineering, drafting, or design technology; or
- One year of professional experience in bridge and structural design work, including six months involved CADD operation; and a Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering, or a closely related field; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires a Class C non-commercial drivers license.
