What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Planning Manager position at Commonwealth of PA?

As the Transportation Planning Manager, you will manage professional level employees performing maintenance, operation, and installation of the Automatic Traffic Recorder (ATR) and Continuous Automatic Vehicle Classification (CAVC) sites. You will also be responsible for the development and execution of the scope(s) of work for the maintenance, repair, installation of ATR and CAVC sites.
In addition, you will manage advanced work in the operation of the Statewide Weigh in Motion (WIM) Program including but not limited to the oversight of the WIM maintenance, calibration, and installation contract which includes coordination with the PA State Police for truck weight enforcement sites. You will also manage the monthly and quarterly submittals to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Long Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) Program.
Manages the development and production of the Bureau’s Annual Traffic Data Report (PUB 601).

Full-time employment- Work Hours: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm; Monday - Friday; 1 hour lunch
- You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) up 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Travel and overtime may be required
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Transportation Planning Specialist Supervisor; OR One year of experience as a Transportation Planning Specialist 2; OR Three years of professional transportation planning, transportation administration, or transportation engineering experience, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, planning, computer science, or geography; OR An equivalent combination of experience and training.- Must meet PA residency requirement – For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency
