Your role is centered on diseases caused by non-influenza respiratory viruses, while also offering support to the Epidemiology Research Associate who specializes in influenza. Your responsibilities encompass the identification, management, and reporting of surveillance data related to respiratory diseases, utilizing various tools and systems. Additionally, you will communicate epidemiological findings, engage in workgroups and conferences, and play a part in enhancing the public health infrastructure.
Furthermore, you will serve as a secondary subject matter expert on COVID-19, influenza, and other respiratory viruses that hold public health importance. Your contributions will be vital in addressing the challenges posed by these diseases and in fostering collaboration within the public health community.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
- Available work hours are between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule to be determined upon hire.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- This position is eligible for an alternate work schedule (AWS).
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional experience performing public health or environmental health epidemiological investigations or studies, or designing and managing a disease surveillance system; and a master's degree that includes or is supplemented by six credits in epidemiology, environmental health, statistics, or research.

- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
